I'm trying to remember a game i used to play a lot?

I remember there being this game that i played a lot when I was younger. In the game, you had a planet, and you had a spaceship thingy that u moved around the planet to protect it from enemies that would come in waves. You could also get upgrades for the planet and the ship, at least i think so. I also think that the game came with Windows XP when you first bought it, and it wasn't the full game either. You would have to but the full version. Also, the game would have to be played in fullscreen. So could someone please try to give me ideas on what the game was.
