What are your views on the electoral shift (linked below) throughout the country?

'The south' was populated by a different kind of democrat than the north. The civil rights movement was unacceptable to Southerners so they left the democrats to form what they called the 'Dixiecrat's'. This was never a organized party, but they for certain weren't going to involved with 'northerners' who were for Integration. Eventually many of them moved over to the Republicans who held out against the civil rights movement until recent times. Now that all of that is in the past, a new generation of southerners sees themselves more as 'working cl' Americans rather than 'white' Americans. This has produced a gradual but not fully developed shift back to the democrats who, while they did abandon the American wage-earner for a over a decade, have once again 'seen the the light'. Once again, the republicans aren't ready to move forward en m. Southern republicans not going to abandon their 'all for the rich and the corporations' trickle down economics and their 'war' is the answer to all foreign problems. In this election cycle the republicans still hold onto a majority in the south, but the shift is evident. The GOP had it's chance to sell it's reactionary brand of republicanism and admittedly they moved a a lot of 'product'. But as it turned out, what they were selling had far too many flaws and inconsistencies to make for a long shelf life. By the next election cycle it will be a battle of the 'middle'...We've learned our lesson! No kiddin'!
