What Are The First Signs of Wisdom Teeth developing?

I am almost 18, and I know wisdom teeth does grow sometime in this time period. I am noticing a little swelling in my gums on the right backside of my lower teeth, right behind the last tooth (uming before the development of wisdom teeth). Sometimes I feel pain, which is very minor. Could this be a sign of the development of a wisdom tooth?
