Pet and the military?

I have 2 dogs. An over weight pit bull and a blue-tick springer spaniel mix I am thinking abut joining the air force and just wanted to know how military life would effect them. My pit bull has cancer so she may not live much longer, but me blue-tick mix is super active and needs lots of attention. If I get sent away over sea what will happen to me babies?
