Am I crazy for wanting to learn this piece?

Hmm, I would say you are crazy. A Bach Fugue, is extremely difficult to learn. Because of the four voices, and you have to have meticulous control of each finger, to hold each voice. I don't think you will be fully able to comprehend the complex structure of this piece with such little experience with the piano. Fugue's are usually taught to college level pianists. It is a nice sounding piece, you may be able to learn how to play the notes, but I highly doubt that you will play it as intended by Bach.
